Crisis Resources for First Responders

If you or someone you know is experiencing a mental health crisis, immediate support is available.

 

The resources below include crisis hotlines, mobile crisis services, and responder-specific support options for law enforcement, fire, EMS, veterans, and public safety professionals. If there is an immediate risk of harm to yourself or others, call 911 or go to your nearest emergency department.

Tennessee Crisis Response Resources

988 Suicide & Crisis Lifeline: People can call or text 988 or chat 988lifeline.org for themselves or if they are worried about a loved one who may need crisis support.  Call 988 and press 0 to be routed immediately to a crisis counselor.

TN Statewide Crisis Phone Line:  855-274-7471 or text 741-741.

COPLINE® offers a CONFIDENTIAL 24-hour hotline answered by retired law enforcement officers. listeners provide assistance with the successful management of various psychosocial stressors that impact a significant number of law enforcement officers and their families. Should the caller need further assistance the retired officer listener has access to vetted clinical referrals to therapists and programs throughout our callers regions to further assist with ongoing stressors.

Fire/EMS Hotline

Confidential and 24-hour, the Fire/EMS Helpline was created for first responders by members of the fire service. This program is specifically designed to meet the unique needs of firefighters, EMTs, rescue personnel and their families. Also known as Share The Load. Please note: this does require a membership with NVFC.

Veterans Crisis Line

The Veterans Crisis Line is free and confidential. When you call, chat, or text, a qualified responder will listen and help. You decide how much information to share. Support doesn't end with your conversation. The responders can connect you with the resources you need. The Veterans Crisis Line serves Veterans, service members, National Guard and Reserve members, and those who support them.
